Topic: Big Step Forward For X Factory

Time to get out your math book and re-write the whole thing.

In about a month X Factory will release the K 021 X - 6 Squared Kit. This is the entire car, AE parts and all, along with many upgrade parts. It is an absolute top-line race car with all the parts X-Team drivers use.

Here is a partial list of what's in the K 021 X - 6 Squared Kit:

* The new M.I.P. C-CVD – among the first Kits to have them as standard – and we have the latest white rings
* Best quality Lunsford “Punisher” titanium turnbuckles and broached (hex head) Ti ball studs. $85 value
* Lunsford titanium hinge pins
* J Concepts ball cups.
* J concepts body & wing.
* New X Factory exclusive 2-piece window masks make it simple to paint an outline around all three windows to enhance that great paint scheme.
* Diff balls from the supplier used by B-Fast for the smoothest possible diff.
* Black anodized aluminum shims for a dialed suspension – no more ugly white plastic to wear out introducing suspension slop
* Aluminum FT front brace.
* 30 degree caster blocks
* B44 rear hubs with oversized outer bearings
* X Factory’s rear hinge pin mounting system with brass bushings – simple to install but secure with almost no wear
* X Factory’s famously smooth 4-Gear transmission gets the motor rotation right for best forward traction, best braking, and controllability in the air. No "extra" gear outside the transmission -- we do it right.
* X Factory # 5210 CNC machined one-piece hardened steel top shaft wears better for fewer rebuilds and no misplaced spacer when your race is up in five minutes
* X Factory # 5530 slipper plates
* X Factory # 2601 steel front axles.—strong, but won’t catch on the pipe
* X Factory # 5661 rear axles for maximum droop standard in the C-CVD kit
* X Factory # 5700 anodized aluminum transmission shims for precise adjustment and dialed appearance
* X Factory # 3313 Carbon Fiber rear shock tower
* X Factory # 1223 Carbon Fiber LiPo battery brace
* X Factory # 1006 “plastic” chassis
* AE Factory Team threaded shocks
* All new X Factory instruction manual – keep the gorilla in his cage while you build the entire car with us

Yes, we will continue to sell the K 018 X - 60 Conversion Kit and the K 019 X - 6 Squared Conversion Kit. No changes there -- you can still convert your T4 or B4 to mid motor at a reasonable price with only about three hours' work..

Our distributors and dealers are placing orders for the K 021 X - 6 Squared Kit now, and they will be shipped about a week before the Kit is available gere, so the fastest way to get the entire car is through your local hobby store. If your favorite store does not carry X Factory now, ask the manager to contact us.

We've been working on this project for six months -- it's an huge undertaking and a big step forward. Only one or two little items to finish up and we're rolling!

Re: Big Step Forward For X Factory

any news on a release date yet?

Re: Big Step Forward For X Factory

We built the first test Kit Monday.  Good thing we did, because we realized we had forgotten a part!  I guess we're not as close to perfect as we thought...

Anyway, there are one or two more things that have to come together, but it's looking good for shipping to dealers middle of this month, public release on our sites a few days later.

Re: Big Step Forward For X Factory

Any news on the new 4wd buggy

"Development of a totally-new X Factory 4wd car is currently underway..."

Not sure when this was posted, but I'm just seeing if there has been an update that I might have missed.

thanks,
Joey W

Re: Big Step Forward For X Factory

Some very early protos are running in the US and UK. They are strictly for testing some concepts and really probably aren't much like the final vehicle will be.

Re: Big Step Forward For X Factory

Back on the topic of the new Buggy Kit.  Everything is here, packaged, and ready to go, except the instruction manual.

We have been using this printing company for several years now, and they have taken care of us well.  Great service and excellent prices.  We gave them the PDFs for the manual last Tuesday.  We expected to get a proof copy the next day and, if it was good, have manuals in our hands April 1 or 2.  Tuesday afternoon one of their largest customers surprised them with a many-pages color project which required over 10,000 copies, and it had to be done by April 2.

Little X Factory was put on hold...

We expect to have the manuals late next week.

In the meantime D.M.S.s initial order was shipped a few days ago with the boxes closed by just one piece of tape and the labels in the shipping box but not on the Kits.  As soon as we have the manuals they will be shipped express to U.K. and Darren will put them in the Kits, seal up the boxes, and apply the labels.

Team AJ in Japan has requested Kits with the instructions on CD, not printed, and those Kits will go out first thing Saturday AM.

We hope to ship dealer orders next Friday and Saturday, and put the K 021 Kit on the web site Monday April 12.  As always, you can get the Complete Car first from your local hobby store.  If your local shop does not stock X Factory, ask the manager to contact us.
